Meeting with Vice Governor of Hubei

On 23rd March, Joerg Wuttke, president of the European Chamber, led a delegation of members to meet with Mr Zhao Haishan, the Vice Governor of Hubei Province. The Chamber delegation included representatives of the Chamber Advisory Council, Maritime Manufacturing, Energy Working Groups, and CDMD Desk, etc. Vice Governor expressed appreciation to the European business community for the donation both in capital and in-kind during the Covid-19 outbreak. With a robust economic recovery, Hubei now stands ready to create a more open business environment in the post-pandemic era to attract more foreign talent and investment. President of the European Chamber thanked Vice Governor and the Hubei government for the contribution and sacrifice they have made in stemming the spread of the virus, which fully demonstrated the Hubei spirit of resilience. Representatives of the Chamber delegation spoke highly of the business opportunities and the potential for cooperation with the Hubei province, especially in the sectors of healthcare, carbon neutrality, Hubei Free Trade Pilot Zone, and the transformation of Chinese transportation system. As the meeting concluded, President Wuttke presented the Chamber’s Position Paper 2020/2021 and looked forward to more business exchanges in the future.
