On 6th July, European Chamber President Joerg Wuttke hosted a dinner meeting with Vice Chairman Pan Feng of the China-Europe Association for Technical and Economic Cooperation (CEATEC) and Ambassador Nicolas Chapuis of the European Union Delegation to China. Vice President of the European Chamber Mr Bruno Weill, Counsellor and Interim Head of Trade Sector of the European Union Delegation to China Ms Mervi Kahlos, along with CEATEC officials, also attended the dinner.

During the meeting, President and Vice President of the European Chamber raise to the attention of Vice Chairman of CEATEC a few most pressing issues in the current EU-China relation, including restrictions on return of family members of foreign expats and Xinjiang related issues. Vice Chairman Pan proposes that, in the aim of better addressing these issues, CEATEC would like to form more active and closer cooperation with the European Chamber.

European Chamber appreciates the initiative and looks forward to working more closely with CEATEC on specific projects. Both parties agree that strengthening dialogue and cooperation is the only key to clear barriers and create a better environment for European and Chinese businesses.
