European Chamber Vice President Speaks at the 2021 Global Digital Economy Conference held in Beijing

To implement the strategic arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on the development of the digital economy, 2021 Global Digital Economy Conference (hereinafter referred to as the "Digital Economy Conference"), hosted by Beijing Municipal People's Government, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), was held in Beijing from 2 to 3 August 2021.

The European Chamber Vice President, Mr. Guido D. Giacconi, digitally joined the Digital Economy Conference, as per invitation of Mr. Chen Jining, Mayor of Beijing Municipality. In the remarks, Mr. Giacconi emphasised the importance of the Chinese digital market for European companies, and recommended to creating a level-playing field for European companies in China's technological realm for an improved digital economy.
