The legal landscape of climate change

An overview of the international legal framework of climate change, the EU Green Deal and some examples of national climate law.

The risks associated with or caused by climate change

Climate change is a systemic risk with a potential to impact all sectors of the economy. It could take the form of physical risks, prompted by extreme weather events. It could take the form of resource scarcity due to climate change; commercial risks as societal transition follows in the wake of increasing climate change mitigation and adaption ambitions from customers, regulators, and other stakeholders.

“Green” contract drafting

A climate change perspective on contract drafting brings value to the business by mitigating climate-related risks, and by demonstrating leadership to help fight climate change through contract drafting. The latter is of increasing importance as the ability to be part of the solution to the climate change crisis is becoming a vital business objective for business across sectors.
