European Chamber South China Chapter Board Chair Meets Guangzhou Vice Mayor Zhang Yong

On 10th November, a delegation of European Chamber members led by Vice President (VP) and South China Chapter Chair Klaus Zenkel met with Guangzhou Vice Mayor Zhang Yong. VP Zenkel presented the main findings of the European Chamber’s Business Confidence Survey 2021 and Position Paper 2021/2022, and outlined concerns of members in South China regarding issues like the recurring power shortages and entry ban.
VP Zenkel shared with Vice Mayor Zhang South China members' impressions of the strength of the Guangdong business environment and their continued confidence in the region despite the many challenges faced this past year. Vice Mayor Zhang made assurances that difficulties like power shortages and supply chain disruptions will be resolved and that the Guangzhou Government stands ready to help European Chamber members. The meeting concluded with VP Zenkel sharing copies of the BCS and Position Paper with Vice Mayor Zhang Yong and the other government representatives present.
