2021 Annual Conference: China-EU Energy Innovation Cooperation in the Field of Energy Storage

In accordance with the relevant work plan of the National Energy Administration, the China-Europe Energy Innovation Cooperation (CEEI) initiative has been divided into four fields (work streams): Energy Storage, Hydrogen Energy, Smart Energy and Wind Power. The Energy Storage field is jointly led by China Electric Power Research Institute Co. Ltd. (中国电力科学研究院有限公司), Zhongguancun Energy Storage Industry Technology Alliance (中关村储能产业技术联盟), and European Chamber Energy Working Group member companies Linde and Rolls-Royce.

The joint leaders of the Energy Storage work stream have organized a series of activities in 2021. In order to further promote the initiative and expand its influence, an Annual Conference has been held on 30 December 2021, in order to summarize the work carried out in 2021 and formulate the annual work plan for 2022. European Chamber Energy Working Group representatives Zhonghua Xu (National Chair of Energy Working Group), Roger Xie (Rolls-Royce) and Edmond Zhang (Linde) delivered speeches during the meeting.

The meeting has also touched upon the existing problems regarding the innovation cooperation in the field of energy storage, the latest technological progress and directions, as well as China-EU cooperation needs.
