European Chamber South China Board Chair joined the 35th Anniversary of the Establishment of Guangzhou Association of Foreign-invested Enterprises

On 10th February, European Chamber South China Board Chair Mr. Klaus Zenkel and General Manager of the South China Chapter Francine Hadjisotiriou joined the 35th Anniversary of the Establishment of Guangzhou Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (hereafter refer to the association).
The association is the first local foreign investment association established in 1987 with the approval of Guangzhou Municipal Government. It has made important contributions to the development of Guangzhou's foreign-invested economy in the past 35 years.
During the event, a commendation ceremony was held for "Outstanding Foreign-funded Enterprises in Guangzhou", and a total of 25 foreign-funded enterprises were commended such as Procter & Gamble, Carl Zeiss, Nestle and 3M. Mr. Hongqian, the director general of the Guangzhou Bureau of Commerce shared that the scale of foreign investment continued to expand last year. The actual use of foreign investment in Guangzhou was 57.4 billion yuan, up 5.7% year on year; The number of Fortune 500 enterprises invested in Guangzhou has reached 335 and 1658 projects.
Klaus expressed that the chamber will continue to find new members to attract European enterprises to enter the Chinese market, and provide more convenience for European enterprises to enter the Chinese market. The Greater Bay Area has a perfect infrastructure and a relatively open business environment, which can give foreign enterprises more opportunities to invest and develop. Based on the opportunity of high-quality development in Guangdong, the chamber will promote European enterprises and Guangdong to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
