On 2nd March, Representatives of Foreign Chambers were invited to join a roundtable on recommendations on improving business environment in China at the China Council of Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). Issues raised by representatives included data and cybersecurity regime, “Buy China” in government procurement, unfair treatment of foreign companies, extension of the policy of non-taxable benefits of foreign nationals and others.

The CCPIT thanked the counterparts for their contributions and recommendations on how to improve business environment for China. Since the establishment of the special task force for foreign investment, it has received more than 6000 inputs nationwide and helped addressed many of them. The CCPIT agreed to organise regular briefing and consultation sessions with foreign business communities to better understand their concerns and find solutions. Representative from the MOFCOM encouraged participants to follow the press conferences of the MOFCOM and also agreed to organise more sector specific sessions with the business communities.
