Meeting with NEA and EPPEI on China-Europe Energy Innovation (CEEI) Cooperation in 2023

On 3rd March, European Chamber energy working group representatives joined the kick-off meeting for China-Europe Energy Innovation (CEEI) Cooperation in 2023, hosted by the China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute (EPPEI).

Pan Huimin, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Affairs, National Energy Administration, made the opening and closing speeches. Zhonghua Xu, National Chair of European Chamber Energy Working Group, summarised the work of the Energy Working Group in 2022, and gave recommendations for CEEI's work in 2023. Jiang Shihong, vice president of the EPPEI moderated the meeting. Representatives of the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Electric Power and the Department of New Energy of the National Energy Administration attended the meeting and exchanged ideas with the leading units under the CEEI network, including both Chinese and European companies.

Over the past year, the organisations/units under the CEEI network have carried out activities in key fields such as hydrogen, smart energy, energy storage and wind power. The establishment of two new working groups under the CEEI network: carbon trading and bioenergy, are under discussion.
