European Chamber spoke at the Online Conference for Optimizing the International Business Environment of Jiangmen City

On 25th May 2023, the European Chamber Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) Forum Chair Daisy Yang was invited to attend the Online Conference for Optimizing the International Business Environment of Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province and met with Li Yanguang, chief of General Section of Jiangmen Municipal Government and Nie Pingxiang, researcher of International Trade and Economic Cooperation Academy of Ministry of Commerce.

During the meeting, Ms Yang expressed her gratitude to the Jiangmen Government for inviting her and scheduling a time for discussion. She put forward several suggestions aimed at improving the commercial environment for European SMEs in China. These measures encompass open financing, simplified administrative procedures, clear and fair policies, reduced subsidy requirements, improved recruitment and retention of talents, and strengthened communication between businesses and the government, which are expected to significantly improve the business climate for SMEs.

Ms. Nie shared common challenges faced by foreign enterprises during their development in China and provided valuable recommendations to address them. Both parties have reached a consensus that building strong relationships between them is essential and highly beneficial in facilitating the growth and development of SMEs by working collaboratively.
