Meeting with Shanghai Vice Mayor Hua Yuan

On 27^th April, European Chamber President Jörg Wuttke, Vice President and Shanghai Chair Bettina Schoen, Vice Presidents Bruno Weill, Carlo Diego D'Andrea and Jens Eskelund as well as Shanghai Chapter General Manger Steven Basart met with Hua Yuan, Vice Mayor of Shanghai.

President Wuttke briefed Vice Mayor Hua on recent developments in trade and investment between EU and China. Other topics covered by the delegation included cooperation in green finance and shipping. President Wuttke also presented the European Chamber in China Position Paper 2022/2023 to the Vice Mayor.

Vice Mayor Hua Yuan highlighted the economic trade volume between Shanghai and Europe and that Shanghai has always been committed to creating an international first-class business environment. Vice Mayor Hua also highlighted areas for cooperation, especially in carbon trading, digital economy, and consumption. He expressed his hope to strengthen communication with the European Chamber and our members, and jointly promote bilateral economic and trade relations.
