EU SME Centre spoke at the 18th China International SME Fair (CISMEF) and the 2nd SME International Cooperation Summit (SMEICS) in Guangzhou

On 28th June, Liam Jia, Team Leader of the EU SME Centre, delivered a keynote speech with the topic “How Innovation and Specialisation Empower European SME Industrial Cluster in China” at the 18th China International SME Fair (CISMEF) and the 2nd SME International Cooperation Summit (SMEICS).

“In the EU and elsewhere, SMEs are a significant source of innovation and human creativity; they contribute to cultural diversity and quality of life. When EU SMEs go abroad, they also support prosperity and innovation in their host countries. They play a role in the diffusion of culture and people to people contacts”, said Liam Jia.

From 27th to 30th June 2023, the 18th China International SME Fair (CISMEF) and the 2nd SME International Cooperation Summit (SMEICS) were jointly hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), State Administration for Market Regulation, and People's Government of Guangdong Province in Guangzhou, aiming to strengthen the international cooperation on SME development and promote inclusive, sustainable and healthy growth.
