MEETING WITH THE BEIJING BUILDING ENERGY CONSERVATION AND ENGINEER ASSOCIATION (BCEMA) ON SUBSIDY POLICIES FEASIBILITY AFTER ISH Beijing

The ECHI representatives re-raised concerns about the current subsidy policies on the promotion of heat pumps. Without taking comprehensive consideration of the geographic condition of the Beijing region, the limited scope of subsidies for full-premixed condensing boilers, and in addition, the focus on promoting heat pumps, will affect the implementation of full-premixed condensing boilers and, in the long run, China’s carbon neutrality goals and urban energy security imbalance.

The BCEMA introduced the Beijing Ecological Environment Bureau's policy research project and all the central-level and local-level policies that touched upon energy security and urban heating project plan. A recent local-level meeting from the rural development bureau touched upon boilers was also introduced. Members and BCEMA had three hours of discussions on how to motivate the local government to plan for the long run with a steady and considerate subsidy policy.
