Secretary General Adam Dunnett Spoke at Liaoning-Europe Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference and the 10th Sino-German Lightweight Technology Annual Conference

On the afternoon of September 25, 2023, the "Liaoning-Europe Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference and the 10th Sino-German Lightweight Technology Annual Conference" (hereinafter referred to as the "Lightweight Annual Conference") jointly hosted by the Liaoning Provincial People's Government and the European Chamber, and organized by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Commerce, the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and the Management Committee of the China-Germany (Shenyang) High-end Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park, was grandly held in the 2nd floor conference room of the Shenyang New World Expo Center.

As part of the 4th Liaoning International Fair for Investment and Trade (referred to as the "Liaoning Fair"), this year's Lightweight Annual Conference focused on topics related to lightweight technology and achievement transformation, relevant research in industrial design, and Sino-German cooperation in the field of lightweight technology. Mr. Adam Dunnett, Secretary General of European Chamber, was invited to attend and deliver the opening remarks. He pointed out that the trade relationship between China and the EU is close and strong, and despite the uncertainties in the economic landscape and the challenges of geopolitics in the post-pandemic era, the 58 member companies of the European Chamber Shenyang Chapter still believe in the enormous potential for economic cooperation between Europe and Liaoning. We believe that through high-level engagement, open communication and implementation of Liaoning’s stated goals, a robust and strengthened EU-Liaoning and EU-China economic partnership can be achieved, resulting in mutual successes. He further highlighted the important role that companies already invested in China play in attracting further investment.

In addition to leaders from the Provincial People’s Government and the Department of European Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce, the event also attracted the participation of leaders from companies such as Bekaert Group, Deing Technologie Technology Group, Michelin, European Lightweight Association, Shenyang-EU Economic Development Zone Administrative Committee, Shenyang Institute of Industrial Techonoly among others, as well as Consuls General from Germany and France.
