Joint Working Group Meeting for Discussion on the Product Quality Law

Over fifty participants from various working groups including AFB, Automotive, Cosmetics, Dairy, Fashion and Leather, FSMP, PN, QSS and SCA attended the meeting to discuss the newly published Product Quality Law (draft for public comments). Among the major concerns such as labelling liabilities, safety accident reporting system, recall system for defective products, definition of children's products, punitive compensation etc., many members discussed and suggested that for the product law should not be applied to certain types of products like cosmetics, food and beverage, healthcare equipment etc., if there are already regulations or departmental rules to regulate these products.

Ms. Guo Qing, partner of Anli Law Firm attended the meeting and introduced the background of the revision of the Product Quality Law, shared her analysis of the main changes and answered the members' questions.
