On 6th January, the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter participated in the BFSU New Year Forum 2024 - China-Europe Public Diplomacy Dialogue. Shanghai board member Roberto Donà joined online the panel discussion on EU-China relations development and elaborated on the Chamber's observations from the business side.

Board member Donà stated that, although there has been positive signals seen in China's recent foreign investment policies, the ambiguity in China's major laws and regulations, the market access bariers yet to be addressed, along with the EU-China trade imbalance and China's faltering economy, still pose major challenges facing the European businesses in China.

Officials from relevant departments of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Department of Central Committee of CPC, Ministry of Commerce, as well as deputy head of European Union Delegation to China, attended the meeting and delivered opening remarks.
