Meeting with Deputy Commissioner of the State Taxation Administration (STA) Wang Daoshu

On 28th February, a European Chamber delegation led by President Jens Eskelund met with the Deputy Commissioner of the State Taxation Administration (STA) Wang Daoshu at the STA’s office in Beijing.

Deputy Commissioner Wang noted the work that the European Chamber has done in trying to solve tax-related issues encountered by European companies operating in China.

President Eskelund thanked the Deputy Commissioner for the STA’s support on the extension of China’s individual income tax policy for foreign nationals. Topics such as optimising the draft Value-added Tax Law (Draft), pushing forward consumption tax reforms, and ensuring consistent implementation of taxation and customs policies at the local level, were also discussed during the meeting.

Both sides agreed to maintain close communication and aim to establish regular exchange mechanism, to allow the STA to listen to the Chamber’s suggestions and address foreign-invested enterprises’ concerns more effectively.
