Roundtable with Mr Yan Jun, Deputy Director-general of Development Research Center of Shanghai Government

On 25^th June, the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter held an exclusive roundtable with Mr Yan Jun, Deputy Director-General of the Development Research Center of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government (the Center) on the topic of the equipment renewal policy.

Ms Holly Lei, vice chair of the Shanghai Chapter board, led the dialogue for the European Chamber, which was joined by representatives from relevant sectors including auto components, energy, healthcare equipment and manufacturing.

During the roundtable, vice chair Ms Lei and member representatives highlighted the importance of European companies’ further engagement in the standard setting, innovative green technologies and ensuring equal treatment in government procurement activities. The European Chamber also recommended more inter-departmental coordination and transparency of policy to ensure a smooth and successful implementation on local level.

Deputy Director-General Yan appreciated the European Chamber’s inputs and recognised the Chamber’s significant role in channelling the voice of business to government agencies and providing valid comments to optimise policies.

The two sides agreed to more future collaboration and industry-government dialogue for policy consultation.
