On July 20th, representatives from the European Chamber met with Ms Wang Shuying, Director of the Investment Promotion Office of the Shenzhen Investment Promotion Bureau, to discuss how to address the main challenges encountered by European SMEs in China and explore related policies supporting SME development.

The meeting was attended by several European Chamber representatives, including Ms Daisy Yang, Chair of the European Chamber South China SME Forum; Ms Danica Mai, Vice Chair of the Forum; Ms Angel Zhang and Ms Lynn Wu, Business and Government Affairs Manager of the European Chamber South China Chapter.

During the discussions, the European Chamber highlighted key challenges for European SMEs, such as financing difficulties, cumbersome administrative procedures, cash flow issues, intellectual property protection, and limitations in work visa applications. Ms Wang expressed significant concern about these issues and identified related government departments that would be valuable for building connections to provide policy updates and facilitate future discussions in Shenzhen.
