Meeting with Shanghai DRC on Impact of Economic Slowdown on Trade

On June 18, representatives of EUCCC were invited to attend a close-door discussion on the impact of economic slowdown on trade. The meeting was organised by Shanghai DRC in order for three NDRC officials to meet Shanghai-based corporate representatives and better understand local trade situation. David Chen, Vice President of External Affairs of Pernod Ricard China, as well as representatives of local SOEs, provided the DRC officials with the most recent statistics of import and export and the impact of the government policies i.e. consumption tax reform and e-commerce on their business operation. Helei Fu, Senior Government Affairs Manager of EUCCC Shanghai Chapter, presented audience the results of Business Confidence Survey 2015 and the Chamber’s stance on a number of draft laws which involves in national security and how this would affect foreign investment in China.
