Energy WG Networking Event: EU-China Energy Night
On Friday 10th September, the Energy Working Group has organised a social networking event "EU-China Energy Night". Around 150 representatives from the European and Chinese energy sector, including embassies and consulates, relevant ministries, key industry associations, energy companies, think tanks, etc. attended the event. The event was divided into two parts: the first part included keynote speeches from China Photovoltaic Industry Association, Biomass Energy Industry Promotion Association and Chinese Wind Energy Association on the Outlook of China's 14th Five-Year Energy Plan and Green Energy Transition. The second part was a Cocktail Party for working group members to get to know each other and interact with key stakeholders.

Shipping has a lower carbon emission than air cargo, so the concern is mainly on fuel transition.

On 1st September, the Energy Working Group representatives met with the Vice President and the Deputy Secretary General of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME). Discussion included establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism between the two chambers (exchanges between member companies, joint visits to industrial parks, joint events, etc.); and setting up a Green&Low-carbon International Cooperation Committee, with the European Chamber being invited as a strategic partner for the inaugural conference in October.
