European Chamber Southwest China Chapter Chair Massimo Bagnasco attended the Ecomondo China - CDEPE 2024 Opening Ceremony

On 16th May, the Ecomondo China - CDEPE 2024 was held in Chengdu. Chair Bagnasco attended the Opening Ceremony and made a key note speech on “Harnessing China - EU Synergies" “气候变化全球挑战:发挥中欧协同效应”:
Diving into the realm of industrial development, Western China has not only witnessed substantial growth but has also emerged as a beacon of innovation and environmental protection.
Climate change, environmental protection and decarbonization has remained a cornerstone of our collaboration. Southwest region steadfast commitment to eco-friendly practices aligns seamlessly with the EUCCC members’ dedication to forging a greener future.
In the speech, Chair Bagnasco shared a very important EU policy: the carbon boundary adjustment mechanism, and proposed suggestions for further cooperation between China and Europe to achieve carbon neutrality goals. He pointed out that climate change is the biggest challenge that all of us must face, and only by taking consistent, coordinated, and urgent action can we achieve victory.
