On 25th November, European Chamber IPR Working Group Chair Filippo Sticconi gave a speech at the 2020 Wechat IP Protection Conference. The conference was attended by various Chinese government officials including Ji Wei, Deputy Director General of the Enforcement Inspection Bureau of the State Administration of Market Supervision, and Chen Guiyu, Deputy Director General of the Shenzhen Municipal Market Inspection Bureau.

The European Chamber IPR working group hosted a meeting with the Shanghai Commercial Mediation Centre on the new co-mediation system that settles disputes between Chinese and European Union companies regarding intellectual property matters. The meeting featured Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration official Peng ZHAO as well as senior representatives of the SCMC who was part of the negotiation, David Chen (Vice Chairman of SCMC) and Dr Zhenyuan HU (Partner of Fangda Law Firm, former Deputy Chief Judge of the IP Tribunal and the Financial Tribunal in an Intermediate Court).
