Meeting with Liaoning Foreign Affairs Office

On the morning of 29th May, a delegation of the Shenyang Chapter visited Liaoning Foreign Affairs Office. Deputy Director Gao Aihua and Harald Kumpfert, Chairman of the Board of Shenyang Chapter had a lively discussion on future cooperation. Both sides introduced their teams, work and the eagerness to cooperate together in order to enhance the mutual relationship. Future plans are made to support the development of the province.

Lobby Letter to Tianjin Development and Reform Commission on Tianjin Overall Plan of Renewable Energy

On 28th May, Tianjin chapter submitted a lobby letter to Tianjin Development and Reform Commission to address the renewable energy sourcing issues facing by European manufacturing companies. In the letter, the Chamber shared the new focus of green deal and sustainable development in the EU, the Chamber members' concerns on carbon reduction targets and lack of renewable energy in Tianjin. Additionally, the Chamber called for a clear overall plan and time table of Tianjin renewable energy development for industry players. A response letter from Tianjin Development and Reform Commission was received 3 days after. A physical meeting with the Chamber members is under discussing and would potentially take place in August 2020.

Advocacy Letter to Foreign Affairs Office of Tianjin Municipal People's Government on Visa Fast Track

On 28th May, a letter was submitted to Foreign Affairs Office of Tianjin Municipal People's Government. This letter raised the EU businesses' strong needs of foreign professionals returning to Tianjin with Foreign Entry Ban, recognizing Tianjin’s commitment to support the resumption of work of the foreign business.
