Energy Working Group Supported 2024 Norway China Hydrogen Forum in Daxing, Beijing

Also present at the event were Wang Libo, Vice Governor of the of Liaoning Province, Sun Jiafeng, Deputy Secretary-General of Liaoning Province, Zhai Dehuai, Deputy Director General of Liaoning Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and Nikola Vitas, Assistant Minister of Ministry of Economy of Republic of Serbia.

On 24th September, the European Chamber hosted its Government Celebration Dinner in Shanghai. The Heating desk invited the Consumer Rights Protection Division Head from the Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation to discuss the challenges of large-scale equipment renewal and consumer goods trade-in. Both sides had a comprehensive exchange on the challenges that may occur and suggested a follow-up meeting with the Heating Desk to be organised.
Shanghai Chapter Meeting with President Mr SHA Hailin of the Shanghai Public Relations Association
On 23rd September, the European Chamber hosted a meeting with Sha Hailin, President of the Shanghai Public Relations Association.
Jens Ewert, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Chapter Board, delivered the welcome speech, outlining the challenges faced by European businesses in China, including slowing profit growth, rising business risks, and increased operational costs. Roberto Dona, Shanghai Chapter Board Member, and Steven Basart, General Manager of the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter, reinforced these concerns, drawing insights from the Business Confidence Survey 2024.
In response, Mr. Sha Hailin acknowledged the significant contributions of European companies to Shanghai and expressed a commitment to strengthening future collaboration with the Chamber.
Environment Working Group Attended the Closed-door Meeting with Chair of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) on Plastic Pollution Management
On 21st September 2024, the Environment Working Group representative attended the Closed-door Meeting with Mr Luis Vayas Valdivieso, Chair of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, organised by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
