On 16th December, the European Chamber held an internal meeting on the review and next-step alignment on the Individual Income Tax (IIT) advocacy. The advocacy aims to request the extension of the existing non-taxable reimbursement regime for foreign national employees in China beyond 31st December 2021.
Chairs from Finance and Taxation Working Group, Investment Working Group, Human Resources Working Group and Human Resources Forum, key members, the Chamber secretariat and representatives from fellow chambers attended the meeting.

South China Board Chair Mr Klaus Zenkel was interviewed by CCTV to discuss the business environment for foreign investment in Shenzhen, and attended the VIP dinner with Shenzhen Mayor Mr Qin Weizhong after the conference.

European Chamber representatives participated the EU Member States Agricultural Counsellors monthly meeting. During the meeting, participants exchanged with each other the latest updates and discussed concerns on the implementation of Decree 248 (Regulation on the Registration and Administration of Overseas Manufactures of Imported Foods), Decree 249 (The Measures for the Administration of Import and Export Food Safety) and the operation of the new CIFER system. European Chamber shared concerns collected from the industry regarding this issue and provided insights on how to facilitate the registration of European food producers. In addition, participants also shared the latest updates on infant formula recipe registration.
