On 2nd November, President Jörg Wuttke was received by HE Mr FU Cong, Ambassador-designate to the EU, in Beijing. An open and frank exchange on current issues took place, with regard to bilateral relations, recent trade and investments between the two economies, COVID-19 containment and the development of European businesses in China.

Counsellor Ovtavian Stamate, Climate Action and Energy, Delegation of the European Union to China participated online and shared the green deal strategy at the conference. President Joerg Wuttke delivered an online speech on the Chamber carbon report: the role of European Business in China's race to 2060.

The European Chamber Tianjin Chapter organised its 2nd Carbon Neutrality Conference: The Role of European Business in China's Race to 2060 along with Green Partnership of Industrial Parks at Shangri-La Hotel Tianjin on Wednesday, 2nd November 2022. This event is also in memory of Guido Giacconi, former Vice President of the European Chamber, and a former passionate leader of the Chamber’s Energy Working Group, who visited Tianjin several times and supported this conference as the keynote speaker last year. Mickael Naouri, Vice Chair of the European Chamber Energy Working Group made a presentation on the work of the energy working group and moderated the panel discussion.

On 27th October, Mickael Naouri, National Vice Chair of the Energy Working Group presented an overview of the Energy Working Group and past advocacy actions to various EU Trade Counsellors at the the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai. An in-depth overview of the European Chamber's Carbon Neutrality Report (launched in May 2022) was also provided, highlighting key opportunities and challenges for European busineses to help China reach its 2060 carbon neutrality goals.
