The Foreign Investment Law was adopted at the 2nd Session of the Thirteenth National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China on March 15, 2019 and shall come into force on January 1, 2020. Following this, the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) approached the Chamber for the consultation on the Regulation on the Implementation of the Foreign Investment Law (Public Consultation).

Following the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA)'s call for comments on the Administrative Measures for the Recycling of Pesticide Packaging Waste (Draft for Comments) and upon circulation of the draft within relevant working groups, the European Chamber has collated all member inputs and submitted them to MARA.
Meeting with World Bank Team
On 28th October, European Chamber Vice President Jens Eskelund, States' representative Mr. Matthias Goebel, and Secretary General Adam Dunnett met with World Bank team led by their Senior Economist Ms Ekaterine T. Vashakmadze at Chamber's Beijing office.
Both sides exchanged views on China's trade and Investment outlook and Chamber presented BCS to Ms Ekaterine T. Vashakmadze during the meeting.
Meeting with Guangzhou Executive Vice Mayor Chen Zhiying
On 26 October 2019, the European Chamber, led by South China Board Vice Chair, Mr. Klaus Zenkel, had a private meeting with the Executive Vice Mayor of Guangzhou, Mr. Chen Zhiying. Mr. Zenkel and Mr. Chen exchanged pleasantries and discussed the need for strengthening communication and deepening cooperation between the European Chamber and the Guangzhou Municipal Government.
