On 25th January, the European Chamber's Shanghai chapter organised an exclusive seminar with the Individual Income Tax Division of the Shanghai Tax Bureau on China’s new Individual Income Tax (IIT) Law. With the full implementation of the IIT Law taking place from 1st January 2019, a series of changes have had a significant impact on individual taxpayers and the companies employing them. At the event, members had the opportunity to raise questions on the extensive scope of the new practice and discuss in detail the implications of these new set of IIT rules for both employees and enterprises, as well as the opportunities and challenges they entail.
