On 18th April, 2024, European Chamber Tianjin Chapter had a Roundtable Meeting with Tianjin Municipal People's Government. Tianjin Vice Mayor Li Wenhai, European Chamber President Jens Eskelund along with Tianjin Chapter Chair Christoph Schrempp attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the president of European Chamber Jens Eskelund, expressed gratitude to the Tianjin Municipal Government for attending the Roundtable Meeting and Appreciation Reception, introduced the overall situation of the European Chamber and briefly introduced the Business Confidence Survey 2023. Then, the Chair of European Chamber Tianjin Chapter Christoph Schrempp introduced the work of Tianjin Chapter and the 2023 Tianjin Position Paper, and made suggestions and expectations for the business environment in Tianjin. Next, the General Manager Commercial of Volkswagen Automatic Transmission (Tianjin) Co., Ltd, Averes Bernd, introduced the successful case of 100% green electricity procurement at the Volkswagen Tianjin factory. And the Vice President of Veolia China, Government Affairs, Jiang Yinghua, introduced the latest development of the Tianjin project.
Meeting with European Commission Director General of the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers
On 9th April, a European Chamber delegation led by Carlo D’Andrea, Chamber Vice President and Chairman of the Shanghai Chapter, met with Ana Gallego Torres, Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers in Hangzhou.

Mr. Jin Xiang, the Deputy Director of the United Front Work Department of the Shenyang Municipal Committee and the Party Secretary of the Federation of Industry and Commerce, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Mr. Zhang Xuetao, the Director of the Shenyang Municipal Commerce Bureau, introduced the city's situation and investment promotion. Representatives of domestic and foreign enterprises exchanged views on the global economic situation, the "dual circulation" development trend, and industry directions.
