On 30th March, a delegation of the European Chamber led by President Joerg Wuttke along with Chairs of the Automotive, Construction Working Groups and a Senior Representative of the Banking & Securities Working group met with a delegation of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the the kingdom of the Netherlands to brief them on current affairs in China and more specifically on the outline of the 12th Five Year Plan.
Meeting with Nanjing Municipal Vice Mayor
Senior officials from the Nanjing City Government met with the European Chamber of Commerce Nanjing Chapter to discuss about how to increase cooperation with European businesses. Vice Major Ms. Hua Jing responsible for outwards investment and trade hosted a constructive dialogue with European Chamber of Commerce China President Davide Cucino to discuss ways for further collaboration from both sides.
In the dialogue President Davide Cuccino remarked that European businesses in Nanjing and the surrounding area are mostly from the manufacturing sector and has been a net positive for Nanjing and Jiangsu, by introducing world-leading technology into China and by creating jobs in the local economy. Davide also suggested Nanjing to open a more effective logistic centre and publish new policies to make the logistic environment to me more convenience. The Vice Major spoke fondly of European businesses and says that she welcomes suggestions from European businesses and will work to improve conditions of operation in China. Ms. Hua said, She also said that she closely watching the developments of the pilot Shanghai Free Trade Zone (FTZ), and is interested in learning from best practices that might be transferable to Nanjing.

On March 25th, Nanjing Chapter GM Ms. Mirella Savegnago, and Sherry Yu visited Nanjing Municipal Investment promotion Agency Director Mr. Kong Qiuyun.
