 It is confirmed that Chengdu’s second airport will be located in Lujia, Jianyang city. The project will start in December this year and will be officially put into operation in 2018. Covering an area of 30 sq. km., the new airport with 5 runways entails an investment of RMB60 billion. The new airport will be three times as big as the existing Shuangliu International Airport and is expected to handle 80 million passengers, 6 million tons of cargo and to operate 850 000 flights annually, which will make it the largest airport in the western region of China and the fourth largest multi-modal international hub airport in China.

成都新机场2018年投入运行

 据悉，成都第二机场选址简阳芦葭，预计将于2013年12月动工，2018年正式投入使用。该项 目占地面积30平方公里左右，建设五条跑道，总投资超过600亿元左右。建成后面积是双流国 际机场的3倍，旅客、货物吞吐量将分别达到8000万人次/年、600万吨/年，飞行起降85万架次 /年，成为西部最大、中国第四大国际复合型主枢纽机场。
