On 28 May, Mr Calvin Queck from Greenpeace delivered a presentation at the European Chamber event “Analysing Pollution in Beijing” on a recent report conducted in partnership with Peking University.
The presentation traced the heavy metal concentrations in the air in the average daily life of different citizens and discussed the adverse effects of this exposure.
Calvin was accompanied by Stephanie Kwan, Sandra Retzer and Simon Spooner, the Chairs of the Carbon Market, Smart Grid and Water Working Group respectively, in a panel discussion that not only discussed the current air and water pollution in Beijing, but also the possible solutions that are being undertaken by the government and industry to mitigate this pollution.
