On May 24th at the Suzhou Marriott Hotel Mr. Carlo Diego D’Andrea, Chairman of the European Union Chamber of Commerce Nanjing Chapter, spoke at the well attended 6th edition of the “Suzhou Appreciation Meeting”. The event, one of the most important economic and political meetings of the Italian Community in China, was organized by the Italian Consulate General in Shanghai, the Italian Trade Commission Office in Shanghai, the Italian Institute for Culture, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China and the Municipality of Suzhou.
Mr. D’Andrea introduced the EUCC in China, in particular the Nanjing Chapter which includes companies from Jiangsu Province, and the joint projects with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China and DUSA - European Association Suzhou. From this fruitful cooperation the three Chambers of Commerce aim to establish the “European Culture Pavilion of Suzhou”, where their members as well as other European companies will have the opportunity to meet in order to exchange information and organize cultural events.
Due to the importance of the Meeting, numerous institutional representatives participated in the event, including the Italian Consul General H.E. Vincenzo De Luca; the Director of the Italian Trade Commission Shanghai Office, Mr. Claudio Pasqualucci; the Chairman of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, Mr. Franco Cutrupia; the Vice Mayor of Suzhou, Ms. Sheng Lei; the Director of Foreign Affairs Office, Mr. Xu Huadong; the Vice Director of the Foreign Affairs Division of the General Office, Mr. Pan Yue; the Vice Secretary General of Suzhou People’s Government, Mr. Lu Wei Yue; the Director of Jiangsu Suzhou Administration for Industry & Commerce Registration Office for Foreign-funded Enterprise, Mr. Lu Zhuan; the Chief of Suzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Mr. Ren Xiedong; the Director of CPC Education Work Committee of Suzhou Municipality, Mr. Zhang Jianlan; the Director of Suzhou Economy & Information Technology Commission, Mr. Cao Nianzhong; the Vice Director of the Administrative Committee of Suzhou National Hi-Tech Industrial Park, Mr. Henry Sun; the Deputy Commissar of Exit-Entry Administration Department, Mr. Chen Xueming; and the Deputy Director of the State Administration of Taxation, Mr. Bao Yiqin.
