Vice Mayor Ms Hua Jing, responsible for outbound investment and trade, had a constructive dialogue with President Cucino on how to further collaboration between both sides.
President Cuccino remarked that European businesses in Nanjing and the surrounding area are mostly from the manufacturing sector. He said this has been a net positive for Nanjing and Jiangsu, with the introduction of world-leading technology into China and the creation jobs in the local economy. The Vice Major spoke fondly of European businesses and cooperation with the Nanjing Chapter. She welcomed suggestions from European businesses and will work to improve operating conditions in China. She also said that she is closely monitoring developments of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (CSPFTZ), and is interested in learning from best practices that might be transferable to Nanjing. A delegation from the Nanjing Government also visited the Nanjing Chapter on 1st April to initiate a discussion on trade and logistics.
