This is a unique institution, and the very first of its kind in the world. Shanghai's Mayor Yang Xiong welcomed Dr. Stefan Sack, Vice-President and Chairman of the European Chamber Shanghai and the experts of the Aviation Arbitration Court Development Committee which include members of the Aerospace and Aviation working groups of the European Chamber. These experts were delivered certificates by Vice-Mayor Zhang Zhuoqing and Mr. Jeffrey Shane, General Council of IATA who will co-chair the Expert Committee. Mayor Yang offered the full support of the Shanghai Municipal Government to this initiative, which he hopes will help further develop the air transport sector in Shanghai and will become a reference for arbitration in China. Ms. Ioana Kraft, General Manager of the European Chamber Shanghai, attended the signing ceremony of the opening of the Shanghai International Aviation Court of Arbitration.
