180 participants on October 16 at the first European Union Chamber of Commerce “Green and Clean Forum”. Speeches ranged from very practical tips to save energy, to smart ideas to reduce energy consumption, to commitment to core values of sustainability and corporate social responsibility. BASF-YPC featured the Verbund concept of production and minimization of environmental impact.

Mr. Cao Wentang, Vice President of Nanjing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries opened the meeting together with Mrs. Mirella Savegnago, GM of EUCCC.
Mr. Oliver Conen, GM from the Platinum Sponsor BASF-YPC held a speech about moving towards a more ecological environment.
Mr. Wilhelm Hummerjohann, EUCC Board Member, gave an overview about sustainability in China & the relevance of Corporate Responsibility – and introduced the EUCC 2014/2015 Position Paper.
Mr. Zhang Jianqiang Vice Director of Park Environmental Supervision Department of NJEPB and Mr. Gu Yuangang Vice Director of NCIP introduced the state of the art plans for the future in Jiangsu and also answered questions from participants regarding the impact of environmental hazards on business growth, economic growth, labor retention, and public perception.
Six key note speeches followed, with many question and answers raised to the moderator Mr. Bernhard Weber who engaged the audience, the government officials and speakers in the discussion.
