On 1st of April, Stefan Sack, Vice President and Chairman of the European Chamber Shanghai, and Mick Adams, Vice Chairman of the European Chamber Shanghai, along with Senior Government Affairs Manager Helei Fu, visited Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce (SCOFCOM) and met with Director General Shang Yuying. DG Shang spoke highly of the Shanghai Position Paper and appreciated the Chamber’s efforts in providing SCOFCOM with international expertise and best practice which has significant meaning to Shanghai’s further reform and opening up. In addition, DG Shang shared SCOFCOM’s work plan after the expansion of the Shanghai FTZ takes into effect and the role of SCOFCOM in transforming Shanghai into a global technology and innovation centre. Mr. Sack and Mr. Adams, in return, shared the European Chamber’s comments and concerns over 2015 Foreign Investment Catalogue and Foreign Investment Law Draft. At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed that the Chamber and SCOFCOM should strengthen closer relations and build a regular communication mechanism to exchange information and best practice in a timely manner.
