The European Chamber held the annual M&A Conference on the 15th July. M&A activities continue to grow and companies need to be prepared to take advantage of the opportunities on offer. This year’s M&A Conference gave attendees a complete guide to the different steps involved when carrying out M&A in China.

Robert Youilll, Senior Managing Director, FTI Consulting presented case studies that illustrates the importance of carrying out due diligence to avoid acquisition fraud. Dr. Michael Tan, Partner, Taylor Wessing, gave a presentation explaining China’s new security laws and it effect on MNCs. Erik Carlius, Business Development Manager APAC, Industrial Air Division, Atlas Copco (Shanghai) Trading Co., Ltd., provided his own M&A experiences in China, while Michael Cheung, Managing Director, BNP Paribas Equities (Asia) Ltd., focused his presentation on M&A financing and loans. Finally, Xin Song, General Manager of Droege Group Shanghai, gave a presentation on post-merger implementation strategy. The conference was moderated by Mick Adams, Vice Chairman of the Board, European Chamber Shanghai.
