Great Success! Discussion on Green Power Trade and Sustainable Development in Jiangsu 2023

The 2023 Discussion on Green Power Trade and Sustainable Development in Jiangsu was successfully held in Nanjing on July 11th, 2023, by the European Chamber Nanjing Chapter and China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGNPC) Jiangsu Branch to facilitate knowledge sharing and promote sustainable development of green power in the region. The seminar brought together over 90 representatives from EU enterprises, experts from the Jiangsu Electric Power Trading Center, and professionals from CGNPC and other relevant organizations. The event aimed to provide insights into green power policies, transaction processes, renewable energy projects, energy storage, virtual power plants and integrated smart energy systems. 

The seminar commenced with a warm welcome from Chen Pei, the Deputy General Manager of CGN New Energy Jiangsu Branch. He introduced the main themes of the seminar, setting the stage for subsequent discussions. 

Ding Yu, an expert from the Jiangsu Electric Power Trading Center, provided an overview of the policy background, future planning of green power, transaction varieties, and processes. She also presented the current status of green transactions in the province, offering valuable insights into the local context. 

Shan Jianhua, the Vice Chair of the European Chamber Nanjing Chapter, and General Manager of the Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection Engineering and Maintenance Department of BASF-YPC Company Limited, shared his company's green power goals and plans for 2024. He emphasized the importance of disseminating green power-related policy among enterprises and improving the accessibility of green power for small and medium-sized businesses. 

Huang Zongxiao, Manager of the Electric Power Marketing Department of CGNPC Jiangsu Branch, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the company's green power projects. Her talk covered specific businesses, transaction models, and user-side energy storage, offering valuable insights into CGNPC's initiatives. 

Zhang Wenquan, a researcher from World Resources Institute, took a macro perspective and proposed science-based carbon targets. He discussed the challenges faced by China's supply chain, and international standards related to green electricity, and shared business cases of the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). 

Shi Yang from China Energy Construction Group Jiangsu Electric Power Design Institute presented relevant policies, application scenarios, construction conditions, and case studies of user energy storage and distributed photovoltaics. His insights provided valuable knowledge about the implementation of these technologies. 

Qin Wenwen, Head of the virtual power plant business of CGN New Energy Holdings Co., Ltd., explained the background and concept of virtual power plants. She also discussed related policies, business models for more efficient transactions, the overall market situation, and ongoing exploration practices in the field of new energy. 

Tu Yuandong, Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Strategy and Development Research Center and Energy Resources Research Institute provided a macroscopic view of energy conservation and emission reduction in the province. He highlighted key policies, existing problems, and corresponding countermeasures in the pursuit of sustainable energy practices.

Guo Wuji, representative of CGN New Energy Integrated Energy Service Shenzhen Branch Co., Ltd., elucidated the connotation and concept of integrated smart energy. He discussed commonly used related technologies, service models, and successful cases, shedding light on the potential of integrated smart energy systems. 

The seminar concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants actively engaged in discussions and raised pertinent questions regarding cross-provincial transactions and future challenges. Following a light meal, the participants had the opportunity to visit the wind farm of CGNPC in Quanjiao, Anhui Province, fostering knowledge exchange with local staff and gaining practical insights.

研讨会以中广核新能源江苏分公司副总经理陈佩先生的热情欢迎开始。他介绍了研讨会的主要主题,为随后的讨论奠定了基础。 

随后,江苏省电力交易中心专家丁羽女士向与会者介绍了绿色能源政策背景、未来规划、交易品种和过程。她还介绍了该省绿色交易的现状,为与会者提供了有关当地背景的宝贵见解。 

中国欧盟商会南京分会副主席、扬子石化巴斯夫有限责任公司安全健康环保工程和维修部总经理单建华先生分享了该公司对于2024年的绿色能源目标和计划。同时,他强调了向企业普及绿色能源相关知识以及提高中小企业购买绿色能源便利性的重要性。 

在接下来的时间里,分别有中广核江苏分公司的代表介绍了绿色能源项目,包括具体业务、交易模式、凭证交易和用户侧储能;世界资源研究所的研究员提出了基于科学的碳排放目标,并讨论了中国供应链面临的挑战和国际标准;中国能源建设集团江苏省电力设计院则介绍了用户储能和分布式光伏的相关政策、应用场景和案例;中广核新能源控股公司介绍了虚拟电厂的背景、政策和商业模式;江苏省战略与发展研究中心关注省内能源节约减排的宏观情况和政策;中广核新能源综合能源服务公司介绍了综合智慧能源的概念和技术。这些发言人的演讲为与会者提供了丰富具体的知识以及宝贵的见解。 

研讨会在互动的问答环节中圆满结束,与会者积极参与讨论,并提出了关于跨省交易的当前情况以及未来挑战的问题。午餐后,部分与会者参观了中广核位于安徽全椒的风电场,并与当地工作人员进行技术交流。
