Themed on carbon trade barrier and carbon tariff, European Chamber Shenyang Chapter successfully co-hosted a workshop with Technischer Überwachungs-Verein (hereinafter referred to as TÜV) and China Guangfa Bank Shenyang Branch (hereinafter referred to as CGB) on September 1^st, 2023, on 24^th floor of CGB.

Ms. Shengnan TENG from TÜV, elaborated hot-debated topics such as breakthroughs of carbon trade barriers, domestic and overseas carbon policies, CBAM, carbon tariff collection and its influence on China’s five major industries, EN battery standards as well as solutions to dual-carbon issues through case studies.

Interluded a session of carbon emission reduction through financial instrument by Ms. Xin LIN from CGB, who focused on CGB’s execution and financial support to qualified companies in this very regard, in particular after NDRC’s launch of Implementation Plan for Demonstration Project of Green and Low-carbon Advanced Technologies on August 21^st, 2023.

Experts introduced scientific calculation of carbon emission and shared their ideas on the trend of carbon related policies and market condition through cases, while offering financial tool as an option in assisting companies in carbon emission reduction, which aroused echo among participants and broaden their views on operation layout in terms of carbon emission.
