On 8th July, European Chamber Nanjing Chapter hosted the Xuzhou Government Dialogue 2024. The Vice Mayor Mr Wu Weidong along with the representatives from the Xuzhou Bureau of Commerce, Xuzhou Foreign Affairs Office and the other officials of the Xuzhou Government, as well as representatives of more than 20 European companies, attended the conference. The dialogue provides a platform where member companies can convey their concerns directly to the government and communicate with other companies.

In the opening session, Mr Xia Youfeng, Director of Xuzhou Bureau of Commerce introduced the local investment environment. Dr Andreas Risch, Board chair of the Nanjing chapter, delivered the keynote speech about the European Business Confidence Survey result 2024 and the Nanjing Position Paper 2023/2024.

Four representatives from European Business shared their insights on the investment confidence in Jiangsu and Xuzhou area. 

Mr Wu Weidong, Vice Mayor of Xuzhou, delivered a speech on the advantages of investing in Xuzhou and opportunities for European business. In addition, he is appreciated the suggestion from Nanjing Position Paper 2023/2024 and Xuzhou will take efforts to improve policies on foreign investment, talent attraction and travel, as well as deal with power shortages and coordinate environment health safety inspection.

In the morning session, all the guests visited Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group and Elitech.
