ABB was recently awarded a major project by Ittihad International Investment Group through China Light International Engineering Co., Ltd (CLIEC), the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractor. ABB will provide engineered solutions including sectional drives for the paper machine and winder, process AC motors and single drives, MV and LV switchgear, power and distribution transformers, ABB AbilityTMCollaborative Production Management system (CPM) and automated laboratory testing with the L&W Autoline system.

CLIEC will provide a turn-key solution to the customer inclusive of equipment procurement, installation and commissioning, and civil construction. It's a significant project, as it is one of the first major overseas projects undertaken by a Chinese EPC in the pulp and paper industry. ABB’s pulp and paper team has been involved from the early stages, actively communicating with customers to offer tailor-made solutions to serve customer needs, and offering technical consulting services over the past four years.

Haibo Jiang, ABB Process Industries Business Unit Manager North Asia said:" China's 'One Belt One Road' Initiative has come to maturity, with a large number of Chinese enterprises aiming to go abroad, from the initial investment and into the depth of cooperation we see now. In the face of changing market demand, ABB's China pulp and paper team has always followed the footsteps of the customer, leveraging the advanced technologies and products of ABB to accurately grasp the customer's needs and to succeed in winning the project with EPC's and with end-customers."

ABB AbilityTM Collaborative Production Management (CPM) realizes integration from factory to enterprise level, including production planning and production management, quality management, order management, and seamless integration with ERP and control systems at all enterprise levels and complexities.
