ERGO China CEO appointed as International Trade and Investment Advisor for Shandong Province

ERGO China CEO Juergen Schmitz is appointed as the Trade and Investment Advisor for Shandong Province.  During its first annual conference, Mr. Schmitz, as the representative from the insurance industry, submitted a proposal on harnessing green insurance for sustainable development in the province, with a view to unleashing the potential of green insurance in boosting green economy and providing support for green transformation initiatives. Shandong Government highly recognized the proposal and sent a letter of appreciation to Mr. Schmitz.

Mr. Schmitz is among the first batch of 19 international advisors, mostly business leaders from multinational companies to provide policy advices to facilitate the high-quality development and further opening-up of the province.

ERGO attaches great importance to the development of Shandong, while expanding nationwide. ERGO has its life insurance JV ERGO China Life headquartered in Jinan in 2013 and became the shareholder of Taishan Insurance, a Shandong-based nationwide property and casualty (P&C) insurer in 2021.
