Jacky Cheng is an experienced communication consultant and entrepreneur with over 12 years’ experience in communication industry. He started his career at the international trade publishing company Ringier, where he held the position of Editor for two of the company’s key publications. He then joined a Dutch B2B communication agency European Marketing Group and founded its China operation in 2004.

Jacky joined The Scott Partnership (Scott PR) in January 2010, as partner of China business and managing director.

He loves communication industry and always wants to do something to drive the industry development. He initiated Asia Business Communications Assoc iation (ABCA) in 2010, aiming to help business communicators to grow their communication knowledge, network and skills through training, knowledge sharing activities. ABCA is now a truly pan - Asia organization with chapters in China, India and Singapore. Jacky also speaks at various communication conferences and delivers communication trainings to many senior executives.

Chuck Chen, Vice-President, Yeepay

Chuck Chen, VP of Yeepay. Chuck has over 20 years of experiences in travel industry and Internet. Before joining Yeepay, Chuck worked for eBay, Nokia America and Abacus. He is famous for his diversified background and open innovative mind.

Simon Dang, Vice-President, Inline Strategy Weber Shandwick

Simon provides strategic direction across digital and traditional PR teams to oversee integrated marketing and media strategies that inspire clients and target audiences in both the online and offline worlds. His ten years of experience in digital includes paid search, social media, display media buying, above the line advertising, and creative content production experience that span FMCG, Finance, Retail, Travel, and Technology verticals.  Simon’s current clients include McDonald’s, Unilever, Microsoft, California Walnuts and Ocean Spray.

Prior to Weber Shandwick, Simon was the global search director at Mindshare NY overseeing the global account for SAP and the North America region for all Unilever brands.

Simon has spoken at various international conferences including  BeaPon’s Annual Asia Social Media Summit, the Beijing Government Affairs Forum 2012, SES China, SES London and OMS New York.  Simon is a volunteer at TED-X Beijing and holds an MBA from Columbia University and is a recipient of the Campaign’s China Digital A-List award.

Simon Stewart, EU SME Centre Expert

Simon holds a master degree in marketing from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland. He spent seven years working in the ICT sector in the UK in customer account manager roles prior to coming to China. Simon is now the China Business Advisor at China-Britain Business Council based in Shanghai and has spent the last eight years advising international companies from multiple sectors. He assisted them to navigate the China market, create market development plans and assess what areas of China are most suitable for their business development needs.

Reinout van Malenstein, IP Expert, China IPR SME Helpdesk

Before joining the China IPR SME Helpdesk, Reinout has gained working experience as an IP lawyer in the Netherlands, working for a Magic Circle law firm and after that as the head of the China desk at a Dutch law firm. He also worked as a delegate of the EU China Co-Reach IPR project and as a researcher and lecturer of Utrecht University in The Netherlands.

Reinout is a Dutch citizen, and speaks English, Chinese and German. He holds a Master of Laws in Chinese Law (Civil and Commercial Law) from Peking University and a Master of Dutch Law in Civil Law, specializing in Intellectual Property Law from Utrecht University. Reinout is also the guest lecturer of many prestigious Chinese and European Universities and Institutions.

Davide Follador, Technical Expert, IP Key

Davide is one of the three Technical Experts at IP Key based in Beijing. He is responsible for the legal component focusing on trademarks, copyright, geographical indications and IP enforcement. He is a retired First Lieutenant of Carabinieri (Italian Police Corps with Military status). He graduated in International Law and is qualified European Trademark and Design Attorney (OHIM), admitted to Milan BAR. Davide has been practicing IP law since 2001 and specialised in cross border EU-China intellectual property matters, working for major international law firms in Europe and China, where he previously also acted as an expert for the EU-CHINA and ASEAN IPR SME Helpdesks.

Ines Brunn, Founder & Owner, Natooke

Ines Brunn is a German entrepreneur based in China since 2004. During her time working in a multinational high-tech corporation where she was taking care of the Asia-Pacific region, she already encountered IP violations in China. When Ines then started her own business Natooke, she got help from the China IPR SME Helpdesk and registered her trademarks. She only encountered some IP violations for a foreign brand that she imports and is happy to see that China is helping to protect IP more and more.
