On 27th April, the expansion of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone was officially launched by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. The expansion brings unprecedented opportunities to European businesses in China. The European Chamber is delighted to welcome Jian Danian, Deputy Governor of Shanghai Pudong New Area People’s Government and Deputy Director General of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Administration, to give first-hand information about the CSPFTZ. On July 27th, Shanghai’s Index fell a dramatic 8.5 percent –the single day largest drop since 2007-, while Shenzhen’s sank by 7.6 percent. Almost 2,000 stocks in both markets tumbled by the 10 percent daily trading limit, thus prompting a renewal of questions about what is happening to China’s stock market.

Industry 4.0, the so-called fourth industrial revolution - after steam, electricity and information - connects machines to a network where production processes and speeds are automatically adjusted to minimise issues and costs.
