In 2019, the China Oil and Gas Piping Network Corporation was established, even as market access was expanded to foreign investors interested in oil and gas infrastructure construction. This signalled that the reform of the gas system continued to deepen. As a record number of COVID-19 cases spread around the world, things are slowly going back to normal in China. Amid a gradual recovery in production and general business, uncertainties still remain. While the Chinese government has announced several policies aimed at supporting businesses, the full extent of the responses from the government at central and local levels, and speed of recovery from the pandemic in the months to come are yet to be seen.
