Dear Working Group Members,

Nowadays, intellectual property (IP) constitutes a key part of business as well as a concern for enterprises of all sizes and across all sectors. Essential players in the global economy, the agriculture, food and beverage (AFB) industries are responsible for continuous innovation and intellectual property creation in their sectors, as they strive to meet evolving consumer demands and to add further value to their products. In a highly competitive China market, what are the precise things companies in the AFB sectors should pay more attention to so as to better protect their IP and secure market shares? The European Union Chamber of Commerce is delighted to invite you to attend our upcoming joint Agriculture, Food and Beverage and Intellectual Property Rights Working Group meeting, scheduled to take place on Thursday, 17th October 2019, from 14:00 to 16:00, where Mr. Tim Jackson, Principal and Head of Patent Strategy and Development at Rouse Consultancy in China, will give a presentation on the Basics of Intellectual Property in the AFB industries.

Food Fraud and Organisation Resilience in the Food Sector

The Agriculture, Food and Beverage Working Group and the Marketing and Communications Forum are delighted to invite you to attend a discussion on food fraud and organisation resilience in the food sector, which will take place on Tuesday, 9th April 2019, from 09:00 to 11:40.

Food fraud includes adulteration (specifically dilution, substitution, concealment, unapproved enhancements), mislabeling, gray market (including diversion, parallel trade, etc.), smuggling, theft, and counterfeiting. There is an emphasis on public health dangers or vulnerabilities. Each type of incident could lead to a public health threat, and thus how best to control food fraud is becoming more important globally.

Organisation resilience in the food sector attempts to address all aspects – Products, Process, People, Operational Resilience, Information Security Resilience, Supply Chain Resilience, and all the associated pain points which are embedded in the 16 key elements of The BSI Organizational Resilience Index.
