2024 has presented a challenging backdrop of economic slowdown and trade tensions, making it increasingly important for European companies to better engage with internationally influential media to tell their China stories. To tackle this important topic, the Marketing and Communications Forum is delighted to invite seasoned journalists from international media outlets to have a panel discussion. This event will take a practical approach of how communications professionals can effectively connect with media as well as their suggestions to communications professionals in providing news content.

European Chamber Southwest China Chapter sincerely invites you to participate in the Annual General Meeting (AGM): De-risking Report Launch on 23rd (Tuesday) April 2024. The European Chamber Annual General Meeting is one of our most important events. The local Chair will review achievement of last year and the Chamber will reward 2023 new members on stage. We will also invite one member GM to give a theme speech.

All member GMs, Consulates General in Chengdu, Chongqing and media will be invited to attend this event. There are about 120 participants every year.

The European Chamber Beijing CSR Forum is delighted to invite you to the forum chair election and seminar on Circular Economy: The Application of Recycled Plastics in Consumer Goods Industry both online and offline. It’s our honour to have Prof. Wen Zongguo, Director of Tsinghua Uni. Circular Economy Research Institution, to share his insights on the 14th FYP on circular economy and plastic waste management. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives from Veolia, L’Oréal and Unilever, which will be moderated by Jet Chang, Vice Chair of the Environment WG, VP of Tomra China.

The 2022 Southwest China Annual General Meeting (AGM), one of the most important annual events, will be held in Chengdu on 20th April. Jörg Wuttke, president of the European Chamber, will share the key message for 2022. Massimo Bagnasco, vice president of the European Chamber and chair of the Southwest China Chapter, will review the chapter’s work in 2021, and its economic prospects and work arrangements for 2022.

The European Chamber Southwest China Chapter will also launch the Southwest Position Paper 2021/2022 at the AGM. In recent years, the Chinese Government has announced several plans aimed at developing the Southwest China region, with the cities of Chengdu and Chongqing designated as key players. These plans include making the two cities and their hinterlands China’s fourth city cluster and setting up logistics hubs for the Belt and Road Initiative. The report outlines how European businesses can contribute to the region, and the difficulties they encounter when trying to do so.
