The European Chamber’s Decoupling: Severed Ties and Patchwork Globalisation Report measures the costs of decoupling for businesses operating in China, including a financial layer among the concerns. Unsurprisingly, it shows China has yet to couple with the global financial system to begin with, only now beginning on this slow road. On the other hand, there are high hopes for 2021 as China takes the lead in economic recovery following worldwide downturn in the last year. The role of foreign financial organizations in China’s coupling and economic recovery is one to note.
